The Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) is a worldwide voluntary organization with a motto “By Love Serve One Another’. Rooted in Christian Faith, and subscribing to the basis, the YWCA endeavours to promote the full development of women and girls, irrespective of race, culture and creed and it seeks to develop a membership that is responsive through service to the changing need of the whole community, in a changing world.

OUR VISION

The YWCA in India continues to be challenged in empowering women and girls to face gender inequities, social and economic disparities, caste-based discrimination and other forms of violence. Today in a world ridden with environmental degradation, violation of human rights, the YWCA as one of the largest women’s movements is in a strong position to be an agent for social change.

OUR MISSION

In a changing world with changing needs, the YWCA of India needs to respond effectively with timely intervention in programmes and projects that specifically address the needs of marginalized communities. It calls us to be inclusive of all communities regardless of age, class, caste, creed, religion and to be committed to protecting human dignity and environment.

OUR PROJECTS

SCHOOL

The mission of YWCA English School is to provide students with a challenging learning environment which aims to inspire joy at the prospect of discovery, and to foster a culture of innovation based on ethical behavior and the shared interests of humanity.

SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL

We offer students a unique school experience at senior level that combines comprehensive academics with life skills. We encourage students to choose a stream based upon their interests which will help in their future career choice.

HOSTEL

In the heart of Guwahati city, our institution provides secure and safe accommodation with all amenities for female students and working women. We also provide well furnished and clean guest rooms and dormitories for short stay. YWCA is a home away from home.
